Sweden still tops, Canada second, Czechs into third

Consistency is key in hockey, and so far at the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, no team has brought its A-game as often as Sweden. With four straight regulation victories, including Thursday’s 3-1 win over Kazakhstan, Tre Kronor retains its crown on top of our third Power Rankings. The defending champion Canadians, who played stifling defence to defeat Norway 3-1, are hot on Sweden’s heels in second place. And host Czechia surges into third place, riding a wave of enthusiasm after downing surprising Austria 4-0. Which other contenders will rise up the rankings next? We can’t wait to find out!
